The 6th CSLF Capacity Building in Emerging Economies Workshop was held in Washington, D.C., USA, on November 16-20, 2008, in conjunction with the 9th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT-9). This workshop drew 40 attendees from 6 countries. The GHGT-9 Conference, organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in collaboration with the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme and with lead sponsorship from the U.S. Department of Energy, drew 1,469 attendees (152 of them students) from 42 countries. A curriculum of more than 50 key lectures relevant to capacity building training (covering both policy- and technical-oriented aspects of CCS) was developed from the overall GHGT-9 conference schedule, and workshop trainees attended these lectures. There were also opening and closing lectures, plus evening events, and mentors were also available for Workshop participants.
