The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an application filed on October 5, 2012, by Excelerate Liquefaction Solutions I, LLC (ELS) requesting long-term authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the terminal it intends to construct, own, and operate in Calhoun County, Texas, to any nation with which the United States does not have a free trade agreement requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas and LNG that has, or in the future develops, the capacity to import LNG and with which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law or policy.  ELS seeks to export up to 10 million metric tons per year of LNG (equivalent to approximately 1.33 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas per day or approximately 502 million MMBtu per year) over a 20-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or seven years from the date the requested authorization is granted.  ELS is requesting this authorization both on its own behalf and as agent for other parties who themselves hold title to the LNG at the time of export.
