This is a multidiscipline project whose goal is to further increase understanding of existing, emerging, and breakthrough carbon dioxide (CO₂) capture technologies applied to oil and gas application scenarios (now including separation from natural gas), along with verification of safe and secure storage of CO₂ in the subsurface (now including utilization for enhanced oil recovery).  The overall goal is to advance the technologies that will underpin the deployment of industrial-scale CO₂ capture and storage. Phase 4 of the project, which will extend through 2018, includes four work streams: storage monitoring and verification, capture, policy and incentives, and communications.
