This is a multidiscipline project whose goal is to further increase understanding of existing, emerging, and breakthrough carbon dioxide (CO2) capture technologies applied to oil and gas application scenarios (now including separation from natural gas), along with verification of safe and secure storage of CO2 in the subsurface (now including utilization for enhanced oil recovery). The overall goal is to advance the technologies that will underpin the deployment of industrial-scale CO2 capture and storage. Phase 4 of the project, which will extend through 2018, includes four work streams: storage monitoring and verification, capture, policy and incentives, and communications.
