This was a collaborative venture, involving 35 partners from participant countries in Europe, with extensive structured networking, knowledge transfer, and information exchange. A goal of the project wss to create a durable network of experts in carbon dioxide (CO2) geological storage and a centralized knowledge base that will provide an independent source of information for European and international stakeholders. The CO2 Geologic Storage (CGS) Europe Project provided an information pathway toward large-scale implementation of CO2 geological storage throughout Europe. This was a three-year project, started in November 2011, and it received financial support from the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme.
Recognized by the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) at its Beijing meeting in September 2011.
