The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an Application filed October 20, 2011, by Carib Energy (USA) LLC (Carib), seeking a long-term multi-contract authorization to export up to 120,000 gallons per year (equivalent to approx. 3.44 billion cubic feet) of domestically produced LNG. Authorization is for a 25-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or five years from the date the authorization is issued. Carib proposes to export LNG from the southeastern United States, including the Gulf Coast, to any country located within South America, Central America, or the Caribbean that has, or in the future will have, the capacity to import LNG via use of approved ISO containers transported on ocean-going carriers, and with which trade is not prohibited by United States law or policy.
