The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) has released its annual accomplishments report, highlighting breakthroughs in research and technology development to address the nations energy, economic, and environmental challenges.
"For nearly 100 years, NETL, together with its predecessor laboratories, has conducted energy research to advance energy options," said NETL Director Carl Bauer. "The laboratory continues to develop new technologies and processes that answer each decades pressing energy issues and to provide our nations policymakers with the objective, scientific information they need to set sound energy policy. I am pleased and proud to be part of such an important endeavor and to work with exceptional colleagues, who invest themselves in addressing the energy needs of the nation and the world." The report focuses on the results of NETLs research and technology development. The years accomplishments are organized by the three overlapping issues that must be considered in pursuing effective energy solutions: environment, economy, and supply.
