The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an Application filed on August 17, 2012, by Golden Pass Products LLC (GPP) requesting long-term authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Golden Pass LNG Terminal, located in Sabine Pass, Texas, to any nation with which the United States currently has, or in the future may enter into, a Free Trade Agreement requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas, and which has or in the future develops the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier. GPP seeks to export 15.6 million metric tons per year of LNG (approximately 2.0 Bcf/d of natural gas equivalent) over a 25-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or ten years from the date the requested authorization is granted. GPP is requesting this authorization both on its own behalf and as agent for other parties who themselves hold title to the LNG at the time of export.
