The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an Application filed December 17, 2010, by Freeport LNG Expansion, L.P. and FLNG Liquefaction, LLC seeking a long-term multi-contract authorization to export up to 1.4 Bcf per day of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) countries.  Authorization is for a 25-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or five years from the date the authorization is issued, whichever is sooner. FLEX proposes to export LNG from Quintana Island near Freeport, Texas to any country which has or in the future develops the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier, and with which the United States currently has or in the future eneters into, an FTA requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas and LNG.
